1 in 6 people struggle to get pregnant. At the same time, many queer and solo parents want information about their fertility before spending thousands on sperm, eggs, or assisted reproduction. Yet access to infertility care remains deeply unequal—only 24% of Americans have adequate insurance coverage for IVF, putting specialty care out of reach for most. But care doesn’t have to work this way. In this workshop, we’ll break down what’s actually included in an infertility workup— why those screening are part of an evaluation, and how to complete an infertility workup in a midwifery or primary care office with non-infertility billing codes to get labs and ultrasounds covered by insurance.
